The National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore, invites applications for the position of Lawyer under the Child Protection Programme. This is a 12-month contractual assignment based in Bangalore.
About the Role:
- Key Responsibilities:
- Support legal representation of children at the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB), including coordination with families, lawyers, police, and stakeholders.
- Engage in field and desk research on child rights.
- Draft legal opinions and policy reviews.
- Assist in organizing workshops, training, and stakeholder consultations.
- Support other Centre-related activities and administrative tasks.
- Eligibility:
- Qualifications: Master’s degree in Law, preferably in criminal law, human rights law, or related fields.
- Experience: At least 5 years of research experience and expertise in designing and implementing research projects.
- Skills: Proficiency in English and Kannada, strong research, analytical, and organizational abilities, and experience with legal research databases.
- Location: The role is based out of the Government Boys’ Observation Home (Madivala) and NLSIU Campus (Nagarbhavi), Bangalore.
