• Is crypto legal in India? Understanding the grey area

• Taxation on virtual digital assets (VDA): 30% flat rate, 1% TDS

• PMLA and ED’s involvement in crypto investigations

Day 2: Smart Contracts, Legal Challenges & Global Regulation

Session 3: Legal Aspects of Smart Contracts

• What is a smart contract?

• Are smart contracts legally enforceable in India?

• Basic requirements of a contract under Indian law

• Jurisdiction, liability, and enforceability concerns

• What happens if a smart contract fails or is exploited?

Session 4: International Trends and India’s Regulatory Future

• Global developments: MiCA (EU), US SEC actions

• India’s Digital Rupee (CBDC) and its regulatory implications

• Role of FATF and G20 in shaping crypto compliance

• Sandbox models used by countries like the UK and Singapore

• Drafting a future-ready Indian legal framework for digital assets
