Legal Associate in a team that provides legal assistance across the Property & Casualty Underwriting business and other assistance to AXA XL’s Legal team globally.

What You’ll Be DOING What will your essential responsibilities include?

  • Sole responsibility for dealing with all English language non-disclosure agreements, negotiation and monitoring.
  • Assisting with reviewing assignments of rights by AXA XL insureds and related agreements.
  • Supporting internal reporting and record keeping.
  • Assisting with other business-as-usual tasks presented by the legal team.
  • Ensuring continuous establishment of legal team in Gurgaon, India working with London legal team and proposing and implementing changes as required (e.g. monitoring arrangements for NDA review.
  • Onboarding new team members as required, overseeing training and knowledge sharing.
  • Development and improvement of document review tracking process and record keeping.
  • Innovative practices e.g. implementation and use of AI where appropriate.
  • Provision of training to business stakeholders relating to mailbox matters as necessary.
  • Develop standardized templates for legal documents to ensure consistency, efficiency, and compliance across the team working with London legal team as required.
  • Develop comprehensive reports on mailbox activities, including volume of requests, turnaround times, and resolution outcomes as necessary.
  • Work with underwriting teams, to understand their specific practices and requirements and tailor legal support accordingly.
  • Keep abreast of organizational and industry changes to ensure legal practices remain compliant and effective with regards to in-scope activities.

You will report to Head of Legal Delegated & Distribution (UK & Lloyd’s).

  • Degree level qualification in Law or equivalent.
  • Excellent written and collaborative communication.
  • Able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • An ability to work self-supported and on own initiative whilst being part of a wider team.
  • Ability to prioritize conflicting needs and progress matters expeditiously, proactively and follow through on projects to successful completion.

Desired Skills And Abilities

  • Willingness to be trained in, understand and utilize AXA XL’s information systems.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving with good decision-making capability.
