Job Description – Compliance Officer
Objectives of this role
1. Developing, implementing and enforcing procedures and policies to ensure the organization’s compliance with industry and government regulations.
2. Consistent risk assessments to recognize areas where the company might be vulnerable to non-compliance.
3. Working with other departments in the company, such as the legal, operations and finance departments, to ensure compliance of all departments.
Responsibilities
1. Suggest/advise the management regarding the implementation of compliance programs
2. Accountable for ensuring all the essential guidelines are put in proper place accurately adhering to industry rules and regulations
3. Conduct internal audits and reviews at regular intervals to ensure that compliance procedures are regularly followed
4. Resolve employee issues about the legal risk compliance.
5. Sign off on any marketing and advertising collateral to ensure it is compliance
6. Perform compliance audits to determine whether establish protocols are being followed and where they can be improved
7. Maintain up to date written documentation and policies related to the organization’s business activities
8. Create compliance resource library for staff members to reference when they have questions
Required skills and qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in finance, law, business administration or a related field.
Thorough knowledge of the industry standards, laws and regulations in India.
Demonstrable experience in compliance and risk management.
Knowledge of financial crime and anti-money laundering regulations.
Familiarity with developing and executing compliance management techniques.
Experience in conducting audits and investigations and providing relevant strategies.
Preferred skills and qualifications
Ability to adapt to changing regulatory environments and requirements in India.
Relevant professional certifications like Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) or Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM).
Excellent communication and analytical skills.
Willingness to work in a team and lead them as required.
