About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Intern to support the Corporate Legal & Compliance team. The intern will gain practical exposure to commercial contracting, technology agreements, employment law, data privacy, corporate compliance, policy drafting, and legal research.
This role is ideal for a recent law graduate looking to build a career in an in-house legal department.
Key Responsibilities
1. Contract Management
- Review, summarize, and maintain records of commercial contracts.
- Assist in drafting and reviewing:
- Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
- Master Service Agreements (MSAs)
- Statements of Work (SOWs)
- Vendor Agreements
- Consultancy Agreements
- Prepare contract summaries, obligation trackers, and risk matrices.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders for contract execution and documentation.
2. Legal Research & Advisory
- Conduct legal research on corporate, commercial, employment, and technology-related laws.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting the business.
- Prepare legal notes, briefs, and compliance updates.
3. Compliance & Governance
- Assist in maintaining compliance trackers and statutory records.
- Support internal audits and compliance reviews.
- Help draft and update company policies and SOPs.
4. Data Privacy & Information Security
- Support privacy compliance initiatives.
- Conduct research on data protection laws and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in maintaining privacy documentation, notices, and records.
- Coordinate with business teams on privacy-related compliance requirements.
5. Legal Operations
- Organize legal documentation and maintain repositories.
- Track legal requests and maintain status reports.
- Assist in preparing presentations, reports, and management updates.
Eligibility
- LL.B. graduate (3-year or 5-year course) completed within the last 12 months.
- Strong academic record.
- Prior internship experience with a law firm or corporate legal team is preferred but not mandatory.
Skills Required
- Strong legal research and analytical skills.
- Excellent drafting and communication abilities.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted legal research tools will be an added advantage.
