We are looking for an IP Research Specialist to support intellectual property research, patent analysis, and innovation tracking across Scry AIs technology landscape. This role is critical in identifying patent opportunities, assessing risks, and supporting strategic innovation initiatives.
Role Overview
As an IP Research Specialist at Scry AI, you will conduct patent searches, analyze IP landscapes, and provide insights to support R&D, product development, and legal strategies. You will work closely with engineering, product, and legal teams to ensure strong IP positioning in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of intellectual property frameworks and patent research methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
Patent Research & Analysis
- Conduct prior art searches, patentability searches, and freedom-to-operate (FTO) analyses
- Analyze patent documents, claims, and technical disclosures
- Monitor patent filings and emerging innovations in relevant technology domains
IP Strategy & Insights
- Support the development of IP strategies aligned with business and product goals
- Identify white spaces and innovation opportunities
- Provide insights on competitor IP portfolios and technology trends
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare detailed IP research reports, summaries, and technical insights
- Maintain organized records of patent searches and findings
- Assist in drafting invention disclosures and supporting patent filings
Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams
- Work closely with R&D, product, and legal teams to support innovation initiatives
- Translate technical concepts into structured IP insights
- Provide inputs during product development to ensure IP alignment
Compliance & Risk Assessment
- Identify potential IP risks and infringement issues
- Support due diligence and IP audits
- Ensure adherence to IP regulations and best practices
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Strong understanding of intellectual property concepts and patent systems
- Experience with patent databases (USPTO, Google Patents, WIPO, etc.)
- Ability to analyze technical documents and patent claims
- Strong research, analytical, and documentation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
