Scapia is looking for an experienced legal professional to strengthen its legal function across commercial legal advisory, regulatory compliance, legal risk management and dispute resolution.
The role involves working closely with business teams, external counsel, regulators and other stakeholders to provide practical legal support while managing legal and regulatory risks.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Legal Advisory
The selected candidate will:
- Provide legal advice to business teams on commercial, regulatory and operational matters
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements, partnership agreements and vendor contracts
- Review customer-facing terms and agreements
- Support strategic business initiatives and new products from a legal perspective
- Identify legal risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures
- Provide legal support for partnerships and new business initiatives
Regulatory & Compliance
Responsibilities will include:
- Drafting and reviewing responses to regulatory notices, summons, complaints and communications
- Supporting matters involving regulatory authorities, statutory bodies and law enforcement agencies
- Liaising with regulators, government authorities and external agencies where required
- Supporting regulatory investigations and information requests
- Assisting business teams with compliance-related legal matters
Litigation & Dispute Resolution
Prior litigation experience is preferred for this role.
The candidate may be responsible for:
- Managing and supporting litigation involving consumer, civil and commercial disputes
- Coordinating with external advocates and legal counsel
- Drafting and reviewing legal notices, replies, complaints, affidavits, petitions and other litigation documents
- Maintaining litigation trackers and providing updates to internal stakeholders
- Supporting litigation strategy in coordination with internal teams and external counsel
Legal Research & Governance
The role will also involve:
- Conducting legal research on new laws, regulations and judicial developments
- Preparing legal opinions, internal legal guidance notes and risk assessments
- Maintaining legal trackers, dispute MIS and legal documentation
- Monitoring legal and regulatory exposures
- Supporting legal governance initiatives across the organisation
Eligibility & Experience
Candidates should have:
- LL.B. degree from a reputed institution
- 7–9 years of post-qualification legal experience
- Experience in corporate legal, commercial legal or legal advisory roles
- Strong experience in commercial contracts and business advisory
- Experience handling regulatory and compliance matters
- Exposure to litigation and dispute resolution is preferred
- Experience in any of the following sectors will be an advantage:
- FinTech

- E-commerce
- Consumer Internet
- Other regulated industries
Key Skills Required
The ideal candidate should have:
- Strong understanding of commercial law, contract law, consumer law and regulatory laws
