Role Overview

The selected candidate will be responsible for reviewing, drafting, and managing commercial contracts related to sale and purchase transactions. The role involves assessing trade flows, identifying commercial, operational, financial, and legal risks, and ensuring contracts align with business strategy and internal policies.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assess commercial, operational, and legal risks in sale and purchase transactions
  • Draft and review contracts for physical movement of oil via vessels, trucks, railcars, and pipelines
  • Review and process contractual amendments related to commercial terms, payment provisions, laytime, demurrage, and legal clauses
  • Ensure contracts accurately reflect agreed commercial negotiations
  • Liaise with traders, cargo operators, trade finance, claims, and legal teams to highlight and mitigate transaction risks
  • Prepare and review related agreements including tender documents, storage agreements, book-out agreements, NDAs, and master trading agreements
  • Issue final contracts and amendments after internal consultations
  • Maintain accurate and timely contract records in internal systems
  • Ensure strict compliance with company policies, codes, and internal controls

Eligibility & Skills

  • Qualification in Commerce, Business Administration, Law, or equivalent
  • Strong academic background
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail with an accurate and efficient working style
  • Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Self-starter with a proactive and adaptable approach
  • Fluency in English (French language skills are an advantage)
  • Willingness to work across flexible time zones
  • Basic understanding of Incoterms (2000, 2010, 2020)

The Contract Administration function acts as a key control unit, safeguarding commercial and legal interests in commodity transactions. The team plays a critical role in reviewing trades, identifying risks, and supporting mitigation strategies in coordination with multiple internal stakeholders.
